Carboot Sale August 2005

We got up at 4.30am Sunday and was on the road by 5.05am, on our way to the Furnace End carboot/market. The car had been packed the night before with all the items that we hoped to sell. It was still dark as we arrived there. We all sat in the car for a while once we had got ourself's a pitch. We paid £7 to set-up a pitch. We set-up at about 6.15 as to try and avoid the morning due getting on our stuff.
Tyla sold some of his toys, ie action men and playstation games. Panee was selling jewellry we had purchased cheaply in Thailand back in January. She sold a bout £5 worth by the end of the day so was a little disappointed. Most of what we had got sold except for some old clothes which we later gave to a charity shop. We were away by 12.45pm with a profit between us of about £100. Not bad for what was really useless stuff to ourselves.

My Old Movies Posted by Picasa
My Dad bought me most of the above films. We used to watch them on an old Cine projector. I started of with a silent projector which my Dad then upgraded to one with sound. Some of the above movies had sound to them. As a kid I'd have days when I would pretend to have a cinema in the bedroom and have friends round to watch movies. I think the mighty mouse film was one that belonged to my Grandad previously, as he had a projector also.

A Busy Saturday

Busy day today. Me and Tyla put new felting on our garden shed. Quite a big job aas we had to take all the old felt off before putting the new one on. It also involved a trip up to the tip to dipose of the rubbish and then round to my Mum's to get some wood and adhesive. When me and Tyla finished we jumped in the shower and then headed off to Leamington. We went to the Thai shop and then went for a stroll in the park. The kids had a play in the childrens playground. We all went down to McDonald's before heading home. Iain and the kids then came round and we finished the evening off with a few pints up the club.

I have got an appointment for me and Panee to go for Pyhsio at work , on 20th September.

Car Crash Update

Update: Panee has decided that she is well enough to return to work next Monday. She is still on painkillers though. She has got the doctor to ok her return to work. She is getting to a point that she needs some money, although she has put in a claim for some sick pay through the social services. No news from the solicitors yet as to how the claim is going. Just let it take it's own course now. I rang them today.
My injuries are not gone as I still get pains in my neck and shoulders at night and 1st thing in the morning. I have to click my shoulder a lot now to make it feel comfortable. I have been getting headackes more recently and pins and needles in my left hand small finger.

While clearing out the shed at the weekend Tyla decided he wanted to set up his drums again in his bedroom. How long the fad will last I don't know? But the things are noisey!

Security Update

Over the weekend I've been busy with a few things. I've filled in a gap in our fence where the 6 foot and 5 foot fencing meets. I've added some wood on to part of the 5 fence and on the inside of the fencing around the top and on all the posts I have used some non-dry paint (PC 88).
I have also got a house alarm up and in full working order.
I've also had a clear out of our garden shed and made some room to get the pushbikes in. We have them locked together with a bike lock and a massive heavy duty chain and padlock. I still have another padlock with a hasp and staple, to put on the outside of the shed.
Also waiting to be put up, on the outside of the house, I have a security light with Pir sensor.
I do realise though that I can only put obstacles up to deter people entering our property.

Gig Review Surprise!

While checking out some of my favourite band sites. I came across a Link, on The Plan A website. The Link was for what was described as a 'Rather Nice Review'. Now I clicked on the link expecting to see a fanzine or magazine reveiw and was very surprised to find my blogger/ gig report! Wow! What a great honor. A warm and wonderful feeling came across me. For one I never thought I had it in me to write something that would impress and draw attention to myself as this obviously did. And secondly I felt quite proud that the band had read my review, and linked it in their site. The link can be found here: Plan A - The Official Homepage

Crash Update1

Got my car back today after just over a week. All looking good and cleaned in and outside. No excess to pay as it was waivered by the insurance company. Would this mean the other side have excepted responsibility? Oh well we can now try to get back on track. Panee is feeling better and is talking of going back to work the week after next.

Garden Security

Garden Posted by Picasa
Well tonight we've had what I class as a warning. I have been doing up our back garden for a while now and have been taking photo's of it at various stages. So as to get advice from a friend at work, I've been taking the pics in.Well tonight I took some more and upon looking at them on the computer I noticed the 3 solar lamps (which were part of a set of 6 my mum shared with us) were missing from our garden!!!! Myself and Panee could not believe that someone could come into our garden and stole them. Nothing else was touched it seemed apart from some plastic table legs that had been put on the roof of next doors shed. Maybe teses were put up there so they could take these too. Now I felt quite sick that someone had got into our garden. We live in an end house with an walkway beside us and a 6 foot fence on one side at the end. A 5 foot fence divides us from the house next door. Our property is not massive but it is our home and we should be safe in it. I know if someone wants to get in they could. The question I ask myself is "what kind of security could use to put the likes of these kids /people off??" Panee says for peace of mind we should get a couple of security camera's.
